This machine makes no more than 1.5 quart (about 6 cups) of coffee. There is a clock near the bottom, with which you can program the machine to auto brew coffee at certain point of time.

The blue plastic ring goes around the bottom of the coffee pot, so the pot won't directly touch the surface of the table, but can be touched directly by heating pad while put on the machine. I will say this is a very nice feature since I don't want the surface of the table to be damaged. With this ring on, it makes a little effort to put it back to the machine, but I got used to it after a while.

The coffee was brewed just right! But I notice that I have to be a little slow when removing the coffee pot while the machine is brewing since the coffee won't stop quickly, but the cap of the pot is designed to capture the coffee from dripping.

It maybe take up more space than any other coffee maker, but it sure is a well-designed machine. For easy clean and fill, the water reservoir can be removed from machine IF NECESSARY.

For this price at Amazon, I am going to purchase another one just in case. What a bargain!!

If you can?t do a thing in the morning without that first cup, a programmable timer lets you set brewing to begin 24 hours in advance, and otherwise displays the current time. The power and timer buttons are a little difficult to depress and may require a few tries to get the timing right. In addition, the Evolutive has a cone-shaped water reservoir on its back that is removable to go right to the sink for filling or cleaning. The reservoir holds enough water for 10 cups of coffee and has an easy-to-read water level indicator. The coffee filter holder pivots 360 degrees, making it easy for both right- and left-handed users to fill with ground beans. The filter holder is also removable and has an anti-drip system to keep it from soiling the floor on its way to the sink.

A Pause?n Serve feature temporarily halts dripping during brewing so you can remove the carafe to pour yourself a cup. The coffeemaker?s warming plate keeps the carafe hot for up to 2 hours after brewing and then automatically shuts off for safety. A protective base under the carafe makes it look as if it might blast off, but is really a protective measure for countertops. T-Fal warrants this product for up to 1 year from the date of purchase. --Cristina Vaamonde
