I had a T-Fal sandwich maker for 27 years which still worked perfectly well. It was purchased as a wedding gift to my husband and me in England. I used a transformer over here. My son-in-law knocked it off my counter top and it broke.
I purchased this one to replace it. Although this one is much nicer looking, I do not think it is as good in design as the old one - but NOTHING is made as well as it used to be I suppose. However, it makes great 'toasties' (as we say in UK). I have to be careful not to put too much cheese in inside the bread because it spills out during cooking and makes a horrible mess. If I use less cheese and make sure the edges of the bread are clean of food so it can seal well, I have no problems. Overall, excellent product.....(I wonder if it will last 27 years?)
